I'm a fan of MLP:FiM. In fact, I've been a friend since G1, but do not call myself a brony or pegasister.For the uninitiated, I enjoy My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and have been a fan since the 80's. I'm not so entrenched that it is a part of my identity.
The art and humor of this comic are not exact replicas of the show, so if that is a problem for you, this is the warning. Beyond that, I found the layout on kindle easy to follow, but if you zoom in, it will focus on the dialogue portions and you will miss out on what is going on in the background. If you are not caught up to at least season 2, you will have no idea who the villains are, but you will easily get the gist of why they are bad news.
This particular story is very similar to invasion of the body snatchers. The writing is "pun-derful" especially at the beginning. I wouldn't say that it will hook you right away if you are not a fan, but if you are already one, you may get into it faster. This issue should let you know if you feel like just getting the complete bundle or sticking to individual issues.

This is the most amazing mlp book I had ever seen.

I am a huge my little pony fan my little pony is the greatest show on earth anyone who disagrees with me is wired I love this book so much I need to get the other ones!!!!! I loved the part with the letter to princess celestia I laughed so hard! ps Celestia is my favorite character
Got for my niece and she enjoys it.
My daughter loves these. She's never seen the TV show, and I'm not sure where they fall in the plotline. There is definitely backstory there, but I think it's explained enough that you can get the important parts. The MLP series of comics is the one the store will pull for us now, we all enjoy reading them. The stories are good, the characters are good. It's just solid writing all around. The micro series stories are good too and are self-contained stories (this one is serial, the first story is 4 comics, same with the second story arc. The third story arc has just started).
Now I really want to see issue two to see if they get there sisters back and still make it out alive from the EVIL QUEEN. I also love all the drawings an detail I am going to get issue two. I wonder if the princess will respond and what she will say. I also wonder if any one would get hurt or if any one would turn EVIL
My daughter LOVES graphic novels, but the selection for girls is VERY limited. She loves My Little Pony F.I.M., so this series of comics is absolutely perfect for her (8.5) and her sister(7). They are quite happy with them and are already begging me to get a few more for them!
