Beautifully told love story and so unforgettable. I was so drawn in and could picture each scene in my mind and I love books that make me think like that. I love books that put me where the action is and make me feel as thought I am there. I read the first book and thought the other two books would be like a movie sequel, not as good, but that's not true with this trilogy. Each book was better than the last. By the time I got to the last book, I just could not put it down. I had to know what happens next and how it all ends. I read the entire third book in a half day. It's very well written with historical facts and I can tell the author really did her research on this. I love how the author took the characters from childhood through adulthood and then into seniors. Each time I read an outstanding book I make it my favorite but I have a new favorite now and one I will not forget for a very long, long time. Bravo!!!Product details

I've read so many of her books and she's terrific. I want to finish this series and can't wait for the next book.
Love Miss Rosanne Bittner's stories and this one is one of her best. Book two in a trilogy and the story of the Sax family just gets better with each book. If you love romance and survival get to reading.
I loved this book as well as the first and I can't wait to start on the third. So far I would love to see this made into a movie. My generation and older still love the western movies. Even my children love the western. The author makes the people so realistic. I feel I'm right there in the story. Plus I love the historic facts added in. I suggest to anyone who would like to go back in time, read these books. Great author
The whole series of Blue Hawk was spell binding. I am a fast reader and normally read a book a day. This took 3 days. The life of Caleb Sax was astounding. He suffered so many losses during his life, but always remained strong. He was a proud man and his love of his wife, children and grandchildren was endless. This series was also an historical series telling the indians version of how they were treated by the white man as the white man took over the land The only thing I wish this series could have been was letting us know which book to read first.
This action packed novel is of the best western that I have read recently. Evil is punished. One of the best things about the story was the strong love between the sons and the wife. True FRIENDSHIP was shown THROUGHOUT the story by several characters. The villain constantly tried to defeat Caleb,but he caused his downfall.This story shows how native Americans were unfairly treated. The author delightfully combines actual history to tell and enhance her story. I have just purchased the next BOOK in the series,and anticipate another super read.
I'll give credit where credits due, this book was a lot better written than the first one. I don't mean a better story, I mean that all the words were actually there! I loved the plot of both stories. I really enjoy the character Caleb Sax and also Sarah, his wife.I thought her role in the first book was stronger, but hey, she had to be. Thank goodness Caleb, Tom and Jess are as strong as they are! And let's not forget Lynda! Don't know how she could have such a gentle heart after the hard life she's had! And she's really been through a lot! Hope the third book in the series is just as good as the first two! And I sure hope there aren't any words missing!!
This book had me going through so many emotions. Thought I was emotional reading the Savage Destiny Series, but this one had me angrier by the minute. Byron Clawson was such a disgusting man and the fact that he went through so much to tear Caleb and Sarah's family apart just had me reeling. I just didn't know how much more loss Caleb was going to be able to take. Was it really like that during the times of settling the West and the Frontier? It also hurt me to see how frail Sarah's health was. I also was really upset when the racism against the Native American's came into full swing after Sam Houston decided to not run for another term as President. To basically cast someone off their land with no legal way after they fought for independence was just loathsome to me. You really see through Mrs. Bittner's history lessons that this country was founded on the blood of people other than the ones that came over here and just took over. It can make you downright angry.
