Bobbie Brooks is living the life she's always dreamed of. A life full of music, success, and love—or so it seems. Suddenly, her perfect world shatters, leaving her alone, broken, and penniless. In order to heal, Bobbie must confront the demons of both her past and present. Will she be strong enough to move into her future and make a new start with an old flame? *disclaimer - this is not your ordinary inspirational novel*

Excerpt I wrapped my arms around him and waited for my better judgment to kick in. I waited for the voice in my head to tell me to stop, that I was a married woman, and that this was wrong. I never heard it...

Dear Reader,
I would like to thank you for purchasing this book and it is my greatest desire that Bobbie's story touches you as deeply as it touched me. I know that you will enjoy taking this journey with her.

Sincere Blessings,
Adrienne Thompson

The writer, Adrienne Thompson, has a real knack for telling a tale and this one can easily be read in a night or two as you pull for Bobbie Ann and hope that she can pull it together after all of the shakeups. Okay, Ms. Thompson. You got me. Smiles.

I loved Blues day and I am totally invested in Bobbie and Reggie's story.

Good marketing move by making Book 1 a freebie. Now, I am sure I will be buying every book in the series. Don't let me down.

Bluesday was a great read! I am happy to discover still another author who is new to me, who has an impressive body of work already. Sign me up for your fan club. I am sure we will be friends.
It was a little bit of a slow start for me but overall this was a GREAT read. Well developed plot, the pacing was great. and I loved the story line.

There are a few things that I didn't like so much though

I wasn't sure where the last minute agreement between Clyde and Bobbie came from, or even why they did that. Something seemed to be missing - especially when she snuck away to ask Reggie if he'd wait.

I didn't like Reggie's long term disappearance, and that he seemed surprised to find out the Bobbie who came to the house was "that" Bobbie. And how he treated her (or didn't treat her) in the presence of Caprice.

Those two things didn't work so well for me. At any rate - this is a great read by a great author. I've also read Been So Long which was FANTASTIC, and I look forward to reading When You've Been Blessed... "Feels Like Heaven".

Thanks Adrienne for your great works.
My first book by Adrienne Thompson and I loved it. This story of love and redemption for Bobbie Ann and Reggie was romantic and passionate (w/out the sex). Bobbie Ann developed a forgiving spirit for her dawg of a husband Clyde who only missed what he'd lost after the fact. She and her soulmate, Reggie, had their HEA. Looking forward to starting book 2. 📘
I enjoyed reading this heartwarming story about Bobbie, a blues singer, whose life seems to go off track for a minute. She takes a break from her music and goes back to her hometown rebuilding relationships with her mother and friend. I have read and enjoyed other books by author Adrienne Thompson. I love her writing style. I was engaged from beginning to end with Bluesday. I recommend reading this book and others by this author.
Bluesday by Adrienne Thompson is the story of blues singer, Bobbie Brooks. Bobbie seems to live a pretty successful life as an artist and she has her husband, Clyde, by her side as her manager. Bobbie's world turns upside down when her husband disappears and all of her credit cards except for one are declined.

Bobbie begins to go down a path of self-destruction and before she hits rock bottom she returns home to Arkansas. While at home, Bobbie must begin to put her life back together as she has no money, still has no idea where her husband is located, and then she runs into Reggie, who is the first love of her life. Bobbie must now not only face her present struggles she must conquer past demons so she will be able to move forward with her life.

Adrienne Thompson has written a fresh story and concept in Bluesday. It was so refreshing to read because as a reader I could feel the different emotions and it felt as if I could feel Bobbie's pain, betrayal, sadness, frustration, and then her happiness. I stopped short of giving Bluesday a 5-star rating because I personally did not care for the nickname Clyde had for Bobbie and the word "champagne" was repeatedly misspelled.

Overall, I would recommend this book to others. And, I look forward to reading the sequel, Lovely Blues.

This story had a spiritual element without being preachy. A message about forgiveness, family issues, infidelity, chemical and emotional dependence, and dealing with all of these without losing faith. Bobbie was a blues singer being managed by her overbearing husband. The story will reveal his true nature rather quickly, and Bobbie was left broken and had to move back home to Arkansas with her mother, and pick up the pieces of her life. At home now and struggling, an old friend, once the man she loved had come back into her life. He was a man of God now, but his passion for Bobbie never waned. They went through some stuff, but arrive as better people, and better for one another.. A good read.
Bobbie Brooks is a long way from the small town she grew up in. While living her dream as a successful blues singer and traveling with her manager husband, Bobbie's perfect life is shattered, and she is forced into counseling. She retreats back home to her mother to regain her sanity and emotional strength. Bobbie soon realizes that this break from stardom just might be what the doctor ordered. As she makes strides to accept her healing process, Bobbie is grounded by the peaceful surroundings of her upbringing and a very special friend from the past. Is the potential of a happy future enough to get Bobbie through the most traumatic time of her life or will she yield to the pain of her past and give up on life?

Adrienne Thompson's Bluesday was an inspiring read with a good dose of reality. The author was successful in highlighting the true meaning of faith and redemption when it comes to life and love. I love how it highlights the struggles that celebrities can experience behind the scenes, denoting that no one is exempt from struggles. Ms. Thompson did a wonderful job illustrating the various phases of the journey Bobbie traveled in order to face her demons, as well as how not addressing your problems can cause further damage. I would recommend this title to all readers. I am also looking forward to reading Thompson's Been So Long.
